We’ve just celebrated Easter. ~Passion week~ FROM: Jesus triumphant entry into Jerusalem! THEN: His crucifixion on a hill outside of Jerusalem. Good Friday ~ Which was a dark Friday for the disciples! ~ Where Triumph turned to Trials. and Praises turned to Pain. TO: Resurrection Sunday! ~ The stone is rolled away and the Light of the World walks out of that darkness! ~ He is Risen!!! ~ The penalty is paid! ~ Our sins are forgiven!! ~ IF Jesus is you Lord & Savior. ~ Our Greatest Triumphs Comes Through Trials! ~ That Peace that surpasses all understanding, Pours out through the Pain that seems overwhelming! ~ It was true for Jesus & it’s true for you and me! How do you follow baptism service on Resurrection Day ~ the very picture of NEW LIFE in Christ!!! At the end of the Last Supper, Jesus prayed….. It was going to be Jesus last time to pour into the disciples. HE KNEW IT. If you knew, what would you say? 1 Expecting Together ~ Our Good & His Glory! I had the privilege of preaching at FBC Hickory 2 wks ago. God KNEW it was Greg’s last sermon even though he didn’t. We’ve see how mightily God has used it! What could be more important than Jesus prayer for us in John 17?! Focus on 20-26 ~ UNITY ~ With God and Each Other TITLE ~ “Expecting Together ~ Our Good & His Glory” *** GET THIS! *** It’s in the unity of the Church (who’s the church?) with GOD & EACH OTHER that we experience, know and represent the Glory of God and the Love of God.*** ~ When we come united for His purposes, He is lifted up, and all men and women will be drawn to him! ~When HIS purposes are fulfilled through us, our purpose is fulfilled! ~ God’s goal for God’s kids is Our Good and His Glory!~ If you want to get the Good ~ Stand up under the pressure & stand together! Jesus prayer for all believers ~ John 17:20-26 nlt 20 “I am praying not only for these disciples but also for all who will ever believe in me through their message. 21 I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one—as you are in me, Father, and I am in you. And may they be in us so that the world will believe you sent me. 22 “I have given them the glory you gave me, so they may be one as we are one. 23 I am in them and you are in me. May they experience such perfect unity that the world will know that you sent 2 Expecting Together ~ Our Good & His Glory! me and that you love them as much as you love me. 24 Father, I want these whom you have given me to be with me where I am. Then they can see all the glory you gave me because you loved me even before the world began! 25 “O righteous Father, the world doesn’t know you, but I do; and these disciples know you sent me. 26 I have revealed you to them, and I will continue to do so.
