Revelation 14 – Hope for the Hopelessness! Have you ever been in a hopeless situation? * Home burns… Floods… everything you have is lost! * A relationship isn’t where it needs to be… there’s nothing, absolutely nothing you can do about it or to save it. * You’re in the Drs. office, the test results are back. It’s positive. It’s cancer, there’s nothing we can do. I’m sorry. * Someone you love is being deceived by satan… they’re on that broad road that leads to destruction. There is NOTHING you can do. Revelation 13 is probably the “Poster Child” for “hopeless” situations! The Antichrist and the False Prophet have risen to power… we know who’s behind the scene. * These are just men who are being led, controlled, used by Satan to his evil work. * God is revealing to us how satan offers a counterfeit to everything HE has… signs, miracles, and wonders… and millions will be deceived. * Millions will worship him and at that time, be deceived into receiving the Mark of the Beast to save themselves… which in fact condemns them for eternity. Chapter 11 thru 14 is a long interlude, or pause in the action to share some detailed information with us. (A parenthetical section) There really isn’t any chronological order… God is simply revealing some things to John so John can reveal it to the Churches. Why? To make sure that we, (the CHURCH) is SERIOUS! * Serious about God… * Serious in our relationship with Jesus Christ who restores us to God the Father! * Serious in how we live our life for Him. It’s through the Spirit of Christ in us, the Holy Spirit of God. * Serious about SIN… about being deceived and the spirit of the Antichrist that’s in the world! * Seriously “understand” that… * YES, God loves us (He’s proven that through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ!) * However, there’s a “Payday” coming for sin. He is a God of Mercy, and Grace… but also a God of Judgment! * And because of the Wrath of God, we (The Church) MUST be Serious about Surrender, Sacrifice, Service and Sharing the Gospel! After Chapter 13, even though it appears to be Hopeless… it’s not! It’s never Hopeless with Jesus! Revelation 14:1-20 NIV –Then I looked, and there before me was the Lamb, standing on Mount Zion, and with him 144,000 who had his name and his Father’s name written on their foreheads. 2 And I heard a sound from heaven like the roar of rushing waters and like a loud peal of thunder. The sound I heard was like that of harpists playing their harps. 3 And they sang a new song before the throne and before the four living creatures and the elders. No one could learn the song except the 144,000 who had been redeemed from the earth. 4 These are those who did not defile themselves with women, for they remained virgins. They follow the Lamb wherever he goes. They were purchased from among mankind and offered as first-fruits to God and the Lamb. 5 No lie was found in their mouths; they are blameless. · John sees the Lamb, standing on Mt. Zion, the Holy of Holies. Exposing satan for the liar that he is! It’s through the blood of the Lamb that we’re marked and sealed as Children of God! · Standing with Christ are the 144,000 from the Nation of Israel… Saved and Sealed at the beginning of the Tribulation period. They’ve patiently endured and been faithful to God through the Tribulation! · They weren’t Hopeless! They’re singing, praising God! Like the sound of rushing waters like a loud peal of Thunder, (Harpist playing their harps…) Singing a new song… those who had “overcome” were the only ones who could sing this new song! · These are those who did not defile themselves with women… they remained virgins.
